Sessions
Booking sessions
Usually, sessions will be scheduled for 1 hour unless we have agreed a different duration of time in advance.
The frequency of sessions will depend on what you feel you need and what feels right for you. For many people, it can be helpful to meet more frequently at the beginning of the work together and to then meet less frequently over time, but again, this will depend on you and your circumstances.
Ultimately, my aim as a counsellor is for us to work together to a point where you feel resilient and resourced enough to no longer need my support, but this will look different for each person.
I currently work via telephone, video call, and online chat and I have a lot of experience in how supportive and helpful working remotely can be for some people.
If you think I could be the right counsellor for you, then I offer a free 20 minute consultation (online or telephone) for us to meet and chat to discuss what you’re looking for and to see if we could work together. There is no obligation to begin working together after this consultation, and I very much respect that I might not be the best counsellor for you.
Cost
Sessions cost £45 per hour.
I fully recognise that accessing private counselling is a financial commitment, and this is why we can schedule sessions at a frequency that feels best for you. I am also open to contracting our work together for a set number of sessions for short-term counselling if that makes accessing counselling more viable for you.
In the interest of transparency, the hourly rate that is charged enables me to cover the cost of: regular Clinical Supervision to support my practice; access to ongoing training and development; professional indemnity insurance; professional membership; ICO registration and other operational service costs. I do hope to be able to offer a concessionary rate in future, but I am not able to do so at the moment.
